In recent years Pale have experienced a rapid development, so numerous sports sprung, cultural and business facilities sprung in Pale. Pale is a university, travel, sports and cultural center of the Republic of Srpska, with about 30 000 inhabitants.

In Pale, one can find a large number of shops, cafes and restaurants. Most of them are concentrated in the center of Pale around the Olympic Park and the Olympic flake which is a symbol of the town on Miljacka. Cultural and religious landmarks in Pale that are worth mentioning are Church of Dormition of the Holy Virgin, St. Josip’s catholic church and house of the Cekovic’s.

Jahorina - Olympic Mountain, located 12 km from Pale and 25 km from capital Sarajevo. The highest peak is Ogorjelica 1916 m above sea level.

Jahorina belongs to Dinaric mountain system. Summer is are covered with green grass, winter up to 3 m snow blankets.

Mountain has an excellent field configuration, which abounds with quality snow. The climate is suitable. Jahorina belongs among the most beautiful and most famous ski centers in the Balkans.

During the winter tourist season mountain has 20 miles of trails for skiing.

Romanija is a mountain and geographical region in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Srpska, including the main towns of Pale, Sokolac, and Han Pijesak, to the north of Sarajevo. It is administratively part of the Sarajevo-Romanija region.

Its highest point is Veliki Lupoglav and it is located at 1,652 meters above sea level.
